Origami: Paper Cup
A classic, kid-friendly origami project — no scissors or glue needed, just one square sheet of paper. Print this page for step-by-step folding instructions.
- Start with a square sheet of paper. Fold it in half corner to corner to make a triangle.
- Turn the triangle so the long folded edge is along the bottom and the single point sticks up.
- Fold the right-hand corner across so its point touches the opposite (left) slanted edge — the bottom edge should end up straight and level.
- Fold the left-hand corner across the same way to the opposite side. The two folds together form the body of the cup.
- At the top there are two loose points. Fold the front point down over the front of the cup so it holds everything closed.
- Turn the cup over and fold the back point down the same way. Gently open the top — your paper cup is ready to hold a small drink of water.
